The whole nation was enjoying the weekend, eagerly waiting for the biggest cricket carnival to commence. The day has arrived, IPL 2021 phase 2 has made its way to bring in bundles joy and of excitement in the lives of cricket fans. IPL clutched the attention from all over the world and people are waiting to witness the EL CLASSICO rivalry between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians. Excitement in people can be seen in the twitter trends and Instagram stories.
Few hours prior the commencement of the match, the whole cricket world got astound. Royal Challengers Bangalore has posted a video on their Instagram channel where captain Virat Kohli made an announcement that he’s gonna step down as captain for RCB post this season. He also mentioned that he’s gonna wear the red jersey until he bids adieu to cricket.
Days prior this announcement Virat stated that he’d be stepping down from captaincy post T20I world cup. This is a double blow for the fans. Undoubtedly Virat has been one of the greatest captains the world has ever seen, experts and he himself believe that this decision can get the better of the batsman in him and the same time reduce the workload.
Who would have thought that the first time Virat captain India in T20 world cup would also be his last time? In my personal opinion, he deserves the world cup and IPL trophy. Will he consider to retain his captaincy if India and RCB win the trophies under his captaincy? In my personal think that he’d reconsider if that happens. Let’s hope…
